Early on, as an IT manager, I managed corporate networking (Novell, Microsoft), helpdesk, and application systems management (wholesale, retail, and accounting applications).
Later, I learned to closely align technology with business needs and strategy. In particular, I was responsible for implementing and managing the retail systems within chains of retail stores and warehouses, and producing executives and other business managers with reporting and analytics against those systems. As an IT professional in the retail industry, I invariably became more "operations" oriented whereas the technology tools I delivered required supplemental support via policies, procedures, training, and analysis.
As Director of Operations for a chain of "high-fashion" retail stores I had over 100+ employees with a line into me on the organization chart. Today, I am a partner and vice-president of a global solutions provider. In my executive role, I have been involved in all areas of the business including business development and corporate strategy, hiring, sales, support, implementation, solutions engineering, training, procurement, software development, and project management.
I regularly interact and work with my client's CEO's, CFO's, COO's, CIO's, and other retail, finance, and IT representatives to determine their needs and offer tailored solutions. Regularly I am engaged to manage client-side projects related to systems implementation and integrations, sales and inventory auditing and reconciliation, and advanced reporting.
