A decorated Marine officer, Jim was recruited as a turnaround leader for GM's Packard Electric Division, where he launched quality and productivity initiatives that helped the division become Toyota's Supplier of the Year, as well as gain unprecedented market share. He also served as GM's executive-on-loan to Ohio Governor James Rhodes' Economic Development Corporation, receiving a commendation from the Governor for helping revitalize Ohio's economy.
After 9/11, Jim and his partners were engaged by the Brazilian Ministries of Justice and Transportation and the country's maritime association to improve Continuity of Operations in compliance with the United Nations' new maritime regulations. As SBA's regional director to support veterans, Jim and his team of consultants provided mentorship and funding support to countless veteran-owned small businesses.
He is a successful entrepreneur who partners with inventors and funding institutions to explore, develop and harvest disruptive technologies. Jim, along with investment partners, owned and operated 19 Pizza Huts for ten years. He recently co-founded Acumen Academy of America, a nonprofit designed to provide free entrepreneurship education and mentorship to veterans.
Jim was educated at the MIT’s Sloan School of Management. He served on the board of two publicly traded corporations and chaired several large nonprofit organizations.
