Testimonials

I transitioned from physician-researcher to physician-executive responsible for building a global research program. Rebecca has been essential in helping me develop leadership skills to navigate a near vertical learning curve, while assembling multidisciplinary and multicultural teams in a setting of constant organizational change. Despite working in a knowledge-rich academic setting, fulfilling our mission depends upon bridging personality differences to apply that knowledge. With Rebecca's coaching I have developed approaches to lead in this environment, and the lessons learned have benefitted my personal, family and professional life.

John Sundy, MD, PhD, Executive Director Duke Clinical Research Unit

Paragon has utilized the skills of Rebecca Merrill of Merrill Leadership for 10 years. Her strategic talents and disarming personality continually create an environment for me and my management team to grow as leaders. Paragon has prospered in both a good economy and a poor economy due in large part to Merrill Leadership coaching. Management has grown from working hard on our jobs to working hard on ourselves. Rebecca has caused management to recognize that corporate value is a result of strategic interpersonal relationships with our many stakeholders.

Bob Hatley, President and CEO Paragon Commercial Bank

Rebecca made a positive and significant impact on not only my leadership skills, but my life skills as well. She was able to quickly assess my strengths and challenges, and to suggest specific and meaningful avenues for improvement. Her ongoing counseling has enabled me to focus on the improvement opportunities identified and to track my progress in a meaningful way. It is not an understatement to say that Rebecca is the consummate professional, with an approach that would benefit any corporate leader seeking to better themselves and their organization.

Adrian Wilson, Managing Partner Square One Ventures

What I have most enjoyed about working with Rebecca is her insight into personal leadership style, and her unwavering support for helping build stronger organizations based on trust and accountability. I am not alone in saying that sessions with Rebecca provide a safe haven and a highly engaged intellectual experience that are both an opportunity to reflect, away from the pressures of daily responsibility, and a chance to see leadership and opportunities in a new light.

Joan Siefert Rose, President Council for Entrepreneurial Development

I have found the coaching experience with Rebecca to be very powerful. It has heightened my awareness of style and communication differences and increased my effectiveness as a leader.

Robin Miller, Vice President Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina

Rebecca delivered a spot-on assessment of where I needed to focus my personal energies to create the highest impact for our company. I took her up on her advice and the results were nothing short of transformative in the most positive sense. Rebecca Merrill is the go-to person if you want to take your career and your business to the next level.

Steve Greene, CEO Alpha Marketing, Inc.

Perhaps the most valuable thing the outgoing director did for me was leave me his executive coach. Rebecca has been a godsend to me and also to our entire organization. She has helped mold our executive team into a cohesive force able to lead a 1300 person organization. While she is highly intelligent and skilled, her emotional quotient is what's really impressive. She reads us all so well and then works on helping us develop as humans and as leaders. Simply put, Rebecca is the best.

Eric D. Peterson, MD, MPH, Executive Director Duke Clinical Research Institute

Rebecca brings extraordinary gifts of perception to her coaching practice. She is a tireless listener whose own journey has provided her with an abundance of wisdom, wit and compassion to share. To say she has played a significant role for me both personally and professionally would be a gross understatement.
