We

Engagement overview

Qualitative research, program evaluation, strategic planning, health education and professional consultation taylored to the needs of each client.

Clients

• We worked with a large urban hospital to conduct a qualitative study to assess potential barriers and facilitators to inpatient palliative care utilization as articulated by health professionals.
• We were able to partner with participants to identify stakeholder categories and major themes to describe health professionals’ understanding of palliative care specific to that institution. This project empowered the participants to enable action toward improvements that are most meaningful to them.
• We evaluated emergency medicine physician education and training at a medical center in Kosovo. During that project we were presented with an opportunity to conduct an ethnography focused on nurse education and role identity. Based on our findings we created an inter-professional curriculum development program to foster nursing professionalism through synthesis of participatory action research, grounded theory and standard curriculum development methodology.
• We conducted a case study that was designated for nursing continuing education credit. Educational objectives included:
Describing the dimensions and definitions of Fitchett’s Model of spiritual assessment.
Application of Fitchett’s Model with cultural considerations for a Laotian Buddhist Family.
• We developed an educational program on child psychosocial and physical development, risks associated with physical restraint, health conditions that increase risks and assessment of child respiratory status. The program was targeted for nurses working in child and adolescent residential treatment settings.
• We worked with a medical diagnostics laboratory to determine abnormal fecal biomarker test results in patients with irritable bowel syndrome and related conditions. We also collaborated with the laboratory to evaluate the economic utility of structured fecal biomarker panel testing in lowering medical and gastrointestinal procedural costs associated with irritable bowel and related conditions.
• We provide article content for a major nutrition magazine specific to health conditions and benefits associated with various nutraceutical supplements.
• Lupine Creative Consulting is also involved in development of products and services focused on the human intestinal microbiome. Through research and development, we hope to have significant impact on human health as modulated by the microbiome.
